Snowy owls return every year to the same areas around the city. This one was in the west end of the city. She (or a juvenile) wasn't interested in flying off the power pole.
Some people in the neighbourhood decided they wanted to make some maple syrup and tapped several trees. Only these were Manitoba maples, not sugar maples. Not sure how successful they were.
