December was not a particularly busy photographic month what with Christmas activities, cold/flu etc but there were several eye-catching moments......
A cold morning in early December produced lovely frost crystals/flakes at Mud Lake that certainly caught my eye.
A few more sights popped out as I walked around the rest of Mud Lake. Queen Anne's Lace encompassing some snow and fallen pine needles sticking up through the snow
A morning's tour of several duck hangouts produced a lone wood duck in with a large flock of mallards. Wood ducks should have gone south, so this one was an eye-catcher.
At the same spot there were some hooded mergansers. They always catch my eye as they aren't always in popular spots
At another spot along the duck trail, I admit the white pigeons in with the grey ones, caught my eye more than the goldeneye ducks
The spreading moss on a birch tree certainly stood out
The number of basswood tree seeds on the snow was quite impressive. Moreso when you realized the small lake (Muskrat Bay) was covered in them as well
