A long cold month with a few day's thaw thrown in.
Perhaps my mind was going when "sticks and snow" were catching my eye at Petrie Islands......
Insects with long feelers? Preying mantis?? A cat?
I'd never seen so many cardinals at Fletcher Wildlife Garden's bird feeder. The flashes of colour and blur of wings at the feeder held my attention for long time.
